Andy Anson to head England’s 2018 World Cup Bid
The European chief executive of the Association of Tennis Professionals, Andy Anson will start a similar role for the 2018 England bid team in January 2009.

The Chairman of the ATP, Etienne de Villiers said of Anson and his new 2018 role:
“He brought great passion and experience to his role in leading one of the biggest and most important markets in world tennis and did so with great distinction. I have no doubt that Andy will bring these qualities and more to his new position – the FA could not have picked a better person to lead their bid for the 2018 World Cup.”
44-year-old Anson who has previously been a commercial director for Manchester United said “It is an absolute privilege to be invited to take the role,”

I want to wish Andy Anson good luck with the 2018 bid to bring the World Cup to England.
To call Panorama ‘unpatriotic’ in Remembrance week takes some nerve. Thousands of brave people died so that we have the freedom to speak our minds. The fact that Mr Anson wants to get into bed with the nest of vipers that is FIFA is his and his groups decision – but do not expect the more thoughtful citizen to agree. Unless and until FIFA is completely honest and transparent we should have nothing to do with it.
