Beckenbauer boosts England 2018 bid
Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer has given England’s World Cup bid a huge boost after claiming that the country has everything in place and could host the tournament tomorrow if necessary.
Beckenbauer, who won the World Cup with Germany as a player and manager, is part of the 24 man FIFA committee that will vote in December to decide the venues for 2018 and 2022.

Beckenbauer said: “As a Uefa member, I would like to see it in Europe, but it is an open race. England could host it tomorrow because they have the stadiums, the infrastructure, the fans, everything. But there are a lot of other different countries bidding.”
