Complaints to FIFA over vote trading allegations
The FIFA Ethics committee is currently investigating after a complaint involving the Russia and Qatar bids for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
The website, www.qatar2022bidrevealed.com, contains two alledged interviews with British journalist Andrew Jennings that claim the Russians and Qatar have struck a deal that would see Russia win the rights to the 2018 tournament in return for supporting Qatar’s 2022 bid.
The interviews, which are claimed to be a hoax, also make anti semitic remarks about England bid leader Lord Triesman along with allegations of vote buying throughout the various bidding countries. FIFA rules clearly state that vote trading is not allowed.

Mr Jennings, who is the focal point of the interviews, claimed that the interviews were ” “entirely fake, fictitious, fabricated creation.” He also said: “Every word is invented. Of course I’ve never given these interviews. And the author is too unimaginative to incorporate things I have said or written elsewhere.”
FIFA regulations state that they reserve the right to kick any nation out of the running to host either the 2018 or 2022 tournament if found guilty of breaking the rules.
