Hull city bid moves step closer after 2nd FA visit
Hull’s bid to host the World Cup football matches at the potential 2018 tournament in England has moved a step closer after a promising 2nd visit from the FA.
The FA has to choose a number of stadiums from 16 prospective cities and representitives from Hull including City manager Phil Brown tried to ensure that their city stood out from the others.

John Holmes, chief executive of city regeneration organisation Hull Forward, said: “The day has gone well and the inspectors were very complimentary about the city. We have covered a lot of ground and it has been very interactive – they have challenged us on a number of points and offered potential solutions.
The tour began with a formal briefing at the World Trade Centre Hull and Humber, before the inspectors were split into three groups and shown the KC Stadium, training facilities and the University of Hull.
The city’s proposals for hosting the tournament include extending the ground to hold 44,000 people, floating hotels and huge “fan parks”.
