England, the home of football should be the host of the 21st FIFA World Cup. We last hosted the tournament in 1966 and we all know what happened then; the home nation beating West Germany 4-2 in the Final, receiving the Jules Rimet trophy from the Queen and lifting it infront of the fans at Wembley Stadium.
With the 2010 tournament scheduled for South Africa and the tournament likely to be in South America for 2014 , the hosts for 2018 look set to come from Europe, Asia or Oceania. Potential competition to an English bid is likely to come from; Australia, Mexico, Holland/Belgium, Spain & China. Read more about other nations potential bids here.
