London release Park Life video for 2018 bid
London United have launched a special video to showcase how football lies within the communities at the heart of the capital.
London are already certain to stage part of the event if England win the hosting rights due to the final being played at Wembley. However, the “Park Life” theme which runs in the video is crucial to the city’s chances of staging further matches in other iconic stadiums around the capital.

Although the film captures the passion of the amateur game, “Park Life” also contains shots of some of England’s biggest football stars who grew up on many of the park facilities that London has to offer.
England captain John Terry, who has fond memories of his local park, said: “I lived in Barking as a youngster and right at the back of my house was Newlands Park. We used to pretend we were in the World Cup, and would be different teams every time.”
Fellow Chelsea teammate Ashley Cole recalled the joys of kick-arounds on Hackney Marshes. He said: “Some of my best early memories were playing in a park for my local Sunday team. The team was called Puma and we played at Hackney Marshes. I used to play alongside J Lloyd Samuel and Ledley King and we often played against John Terry and Bobby Zamora.”
