Angry Luton Town fans have flocked to the 2018 England website to vent their fury at the Football Association.

“No way do I support a bid from a bunch of stuffed shirts who, in my opinion, have lost touch with what football is all about and couldn’t care less about any team outside of the Premier…..
NO TO THE ENGLAND BID!!!!!!!”

An organisation that is unanswerable to a higher authority, operates outside of the law and does not recognise the needs of it’s customers does not deserve the respect or support of decent people in this country. Call me old-fashioned but I was brought up to believe that one of the cornerstones of english society is that the guilty are punished for their crimes, the innocent absolved of blame and the victims are protected and healed of their wounds. The FA’s aboherrent and cowardly behaviour in recent weeks clearly demonstrates they no longer buy-in to that.
Support a 2018 bid to host the world cup - don’t make me laugh!
I shall not be supporting the FA’s football team or anything that they do from this point forwards.

Whilst I agree that the punishment for Luton Town hits the fans the hadest and is therefore unfair, I do not think this precludes Luton fans from supporting the WC bid. We should ALL be supporting our national side, despite our own clubs. It is a duty of all English football fans to support the bid. The FA does have too many ’shirts’ or even shirtlifters within its walls, and this must be addressed at the same time. They have spent far too long wining and dining themselves at the expense of the poor ordinary football fan and it is an absolute disgrace. However I do believe that business orientated PLCs in the premier league need someone to slap their wrists and fight on behalf of the fans once in a while and the only body that can do that is sadly the FA. If the Premier League had its way, the matches would be played in whichever world city paid the most to host them!!
