Milton Keynes to promote host city bid

Milton Keynes, who have been selected as one of England’s provisional host cities, will be given the opportunity to promote their bid as the MK Dons stadium will host it’s first international match.

The stadium, which was opened in 2007, will host the friendly international between Ghana and Latvia on June 5th as the African side makes their final preparations for the 2010 World Cup.

Although the ground has hosted several U21 internationals, this is the first time that a senior game has taken place at the ground.

Milton Keynes is currently one of the twelve cities chosen to play a part in the 2018 World Cup should England win the bid. A decision will be reached in December 2010. If England are successful, they will further trim the list of cities they have put forward.
