Nolan sisters back Sunderland city bid
Sunderland’s bid to become one of England’s host cities if they win the rights to the 2018 World Cup has taken a boost as The Nolan Sisters has backed their bid.
The girl group were in the North East as part of their reunion fans when the four football fans threw their weight behind the city’s bid.
Linda Nolan, said: “If we get the World Cup in England I will be first in the queue. It would be brilliant.”

There are 16 cities vying for Host City status, including Sunderland and NewcastleGateshead. A final decision is expected in December 2009.
The Nolans have joined personalities including Steve Cram, Paul Collingwood, Calendar Girls star Tricia Stewart and boxer Tony Jefferies in backing the bid.
