portsmouth has some of the best fans in gb and it would be fantisic for the city.
Portsmouth is a fantastic location – with good transport links and some fantastic historical sites on its door step.
The fans passion is second to none, and Portsmouth has a great record of sporting events – The Great South Run every year, Le Tour de France visit, and the celebration of Pompey’s FA Cup win which saw 250,000 people on Southsea Common.
England desperately needs a few more 40,000 stadiums and Pompey could build one if they want to continue their success in the Premier League,
We should wait and see if this new 40,000 seater stadium does go ahead.
Because at the moment, Fratton Park would never be able to hold a World Cup game.
Don’t get me wrong, the Portsmouth fans are brilliant. But the stadium itself is not up to scratch.
Apart from London all the games should be played in the midlands and the north. That is the home of football after all.
People of Portsmouth are very fortunate to have such a beautiful historic city and this needs to be shown to people from all over the world. Back Portsmouth as host and let this little gem dazzle.
Southampton may be a more viable host as they already have a top class stadium which can easily be expanded to 40,000.
