Spain/Portugal reveal new 2018 bid logo
The leaders of the combined Spain and Portugal World Cup bid have revealed their new campaign logo for 2018 and 2022.
Angel Maria Villar and Gilberto Madail, presidents of the Spanish and Portuguese football federations, helped unveil the joint logo from a ceremony and press conference at the headquarters of the Portuguese FA in Lisbon on Thursday.
Bid leaders say the logo represents the Portugal and Spain’s passion for football, unity and desire to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.

Madail, President of the Portuguese Football Federation, said: “The logo reflects the unity and the will of two countries intertwined, not only by geography and culture, but mainly by the history of many centuries. We are very committed and determined to bring to Portugal and Spain the World Cup.”
Madail’s comments arrive just days after Portuguese politicians reacted with shock after he stated that Portugal would be a junior partner in the bid as they will only be providing three footballing venues.
