Sunderland launch host city bid

Sunderland A.F.C chairman Niall Quinn and City Council leader Paul Watson have officially launched Sunderland’s bid to become a host city for the England’s World Cup bid if successful.

Chairman Niall Quinn, said: “I’ve experienced first hand the huge excitement a World Cup generates and it would be absolutely fantastic to see the Stadium of Light take part in such an international sporting phenomenon.”

Councillor Paul Watson, said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Sunderland A.F.C and other organisations across the region to help launch this bid. Sunderland has so much to offer as a host city and the international recognition that such an honour brings would provide huge long term benefits across the North East.”

I look forward to Sunderlands bid details, as they try to push the “excellent local transport links” without mentioning the airport is actually in Newcastle!

Yea, it should host with Newcastle

    2nd round

No need to host together because sunderland doesn’t have anything that newcastle doesn’t already have an abundance of.
